CURVES IN ACTION: BEYONCE'S MOM HAS NEW LOOK & CLOTHING LINE

Tina Knowles
From Clothing Line Miss Tina
She is the mother of Beyonce (one of the most iconic talents of our generation), a fashion designer, stylist & now she has a brand new look as well!  Tina Knowles is bringing her new line Miss Tina to a Walmart store near you.  Her line is made with curvaceous and plus-size women in mind.  She says she went with Walmart as her retail outlet because they were willing to go up to the plus-sizes she was aiming for.  With her line, Ms. Knowles wants to help women of all sizes accomplish the universal goal of looking slimmer and taller. "Every dress has some draping and ruching, everything has stretch, even the leather jackets.  Sand-blasting on jeans?  That's not great for most figures and you won't find it here."-Tina Knowles (Associated Press)

I saw the below recent appearance she made on the Today show and couldn't help but feel happy for Tina & her daughter who stopped by for a surprise visit.  Just last year, Ms. Knowles was making news headlines for her divorce from husband Matthew Knowles after he fathered a child with another woman during their marriage. It is apparent Miss Tina has taken some time to focus on loving herself.  She has a new, younger, softer, beautiful look and she looks great!  Tina first stepped into the entertainment scene as the stylist for her daughter, Beyonce Knowles' then singing group Destiny's Child.  She then started her upscale line House Of Dereon before beginning this new venture.  I am always happy to see women going after the things they love in life and I am routing for the Knowles women!

EXERCISING MY WRITES ™

This year has completely flown by!  It's already been about 5 months since I started this blog!  As we get further into October, I'm gearing up to hit the studio full-time again for songwriting.  At these times I spend so much time in the studio I lose track of the days...literally!  I'll arrive at the studio at 6pm one night and won't emerge until daylight 20, 30 or 40-something hours later. Thank God the music industry is forever changing and when I'm not writing in the studio full-time I have the chance to focus on other projects.

Chel & Singer JoJo in the studio- LA 2009
I will be heading to Los Angeles to collaborate with some amazing producers, writers & artists.  The goal?  To come home with some amazing new songs!  I never know what to expect, I only know whoever I'm working with can expect me to give it my all.  Songwriting can be so much like a confession-it's so unveiling and almost like taking your clothes off and standing in front of an audience.  You never know how people will receive your thoughts and ideas...all you can do is stay honest to yourself and put your best contribution into the song.

Even with all the politics and BS of the music industry, I truly just have a passion and love for songwriting.  It is one of those things in my life that just came natural.  My mom says I was making up songs on the potty as a toddler and I wrote my 1st award winning song in the 3rd grade so I guess you could say I was born doing this? lol   I pray God continues giving me a spirit of creativity and continues letting the ideas flow.  I will keep you posted! :)

MTV TJ GABI GREGG SPEAKS OUT ON RECENT BULLYING CASES

Many of you are aware of the recent and heartbreaking events that have taken place at Rutgers College regarding student Tyler Clementi.  MTV TJ Gabi Gregg has made it her mission to bring awareness to the increasing suicide rate brought on by bullying (both in person & over the Internet).  Her message to people struggling with life, "It Gets Better".  She recently visited the Rutgers campus and posted this article on the MTV website.

My heart breaks for the many teens & young adults who are violated, taunted and teased into a feeling of hopelessness.  We as human beings all reach points of discouragement and vulnerability in life, but it truly does get better.  I for one have been through the awkward phases where I wasn't quite sure where I fit, and I can attest to the fact that things work out.  Life is all about growing pains.  We go through many uncomfortable and at times painful phases in life to get to the next level & reach our full strength and potential.  It is important to allways remember that with time, ALL wounds heal & we eventually fall into the right place.

It is NEVER okay to contribute to someone's pain.  It is NEVER okay to violate a person's privacy.  It is NEVER okay for our actions to be based on hate.

Gabi posted the video below in which she shares her personal experiences and encourages everyone going through a difficult time in life that things will get better.  "If you have been bullied or harassed and are contemplating suicide or need someone to speak to, MTV News has compiled this list of resources, including hotlines and testimonials offering hope for those who are feeling hopeless."-Gabi Gregg
